Capturing Chloe

By Marti Rosenberger

Chloe Lewis is a 7th grader at DSA, and the more I got to know her, the more she impressed me. Chloe radiates confidence and is popular among her peers. She does what she wants to when she wants to, whether it be waving to a friend across the cafeteria, or being the only girl playing basketball during outdoor lunch. Not only does Chloe play on DSA's middle school girls' basketball team, but she dances and plays clarinet. Chloe is able to handle all of this, along with working hard in school, and she does so with ease.

I feel fortunate to have been able to meet Chloe and see the ways in which she tackles the 7th grade. The middle of middle school is the time when everyone tries to figure out who they are and who they aren't. Watching Chloe so eloquently navigate her time in middle school has reinforced the notion that the time she spends doing what she loves with the people she loves will leave a lasting impact.
